When Conzett works with architects, as he often does, the results are unconventional and unexpected in appearance. When he works alone as an engineer, he resists the overtly expressive dimension of structural engineering, focusing instead on an approach that might be characterised as innovative reticence. Structure as Space includes both categories of work in a survey of an outstanding engineer who is helping to rede?ne the role of structural engineering and its relation to architecture. It presents Conzett’s own elegant projects as well as structures developed in collaboration with many of Switzerland’s leading architects, including Peter Zumthor, Meili & Peter, Jüngling & Hagmann and Gion Caminada.
