Ready for Take-Off

An increasing number of German architects are “ready for take-off” into the league of global players in architecture. The firms selected for this publication are all currently working on their first large-scale projects outside of Germany. “Typical German” qualities—such as the potential for innovation, integrating designs into existing urban contexts, and maintaining high standards of technical knowledge—combined with classic secondary virtues—such as conscientiousness, reliability, and punctuality—are often crucial in winning international competitions and building contracts.
In this publication, each architectural firm and its respective engineering partner not only presents a current foreign project, but also one of their completed buildings in Germany, thus providing a glimpse into the practical aspect of their working methods.
