Présentation de l'éditeur :In recent years landscape design has become a growing area of activity and public interest internationally, and this book looks at the key trends and projects of the last five years or so across the world, including recent work by such renowned practitioners as Kathryn Gustafson and West 8, as well as many interesting projects by younger rising stars. It opens with an introductory essay looking at broad developments in landscape design. This is then followed by five chapters focusing on specific types of landscape design. These cover landscape designs that are used as part of urban regeneration schemes in post-industrial areas and those that are driven by ecological considerations. Other chapters examine minimalist projects, those that are imbued with allegory and symbolism, and those that are used to create landmarks in urban or other settings.
Robert Holden is a landscape architect and heads the professional postgraduate programmes at the University of Greenwich southeast London. For the last thirty years Holden has worked with large practices such as Derek Lovejoy and Partners and Brian Cloustons as well as on projects in Spain the Middle East France and The Netherlands.
