SPECIAL ISSUE 01
Exhibition Spaces for Artworks
More than 100 new exhibition spaces opened nationwide during the last year alone in Korea. Even if quantity is not a parameter that can measure excellence, it would be a mistake to dismiss this proliferation in exhibition space as merely a passing trend. The exhibition spaces are very important in that they stimulate experiential and spiritual communication between artworks and viewers, thereby acting as media for producing new forms of imagination and knowledge. SPACE shifts focus to the point of view of curators who are acutely aware of the relationship between artworks and space, and who have acquired perspectives from the position of artworks.

SPECIAL ISSUE 02
Vertical Farm: Architectural Challenge for Self-sufficient Urbanism
Reflecting the trend of sustainability, which could be said to represent the zeitgeist, the concept of the vertical farm has emerged as a radical solution to worsening urban environmental problems. This experimental project, anticipated to become a solution to food and environment problems in the urban areas, informs enormous changes in the essential functions of architecture, as well as in the agricultural system. By looking at recent proposals that show concepts similar to vertical farms, we search for the meanings and possibilities for the vertical farm.

ARCHTALKTOUR 23 Nicholas Grimshaw
High-tech, which has dominated contemporary architecture, is finally moving toward ‘green’ architecture, which has shared the social interests of the same generation as Nicholas Grimshaw. Through our conversation with Grimshaw, we attempt to take a look at the issue of Eco-Hightech, which emerged out of the late 20th Century.
