This issue, dedicated to the works of the Japanese architect Toyo Ito contains material on a number of his realised works as well as his proposed projects covering the period 1986-1995. His realised works in this issue are all in Japan. Among the projects: his Shanghai Urban Project, a rejuvenation project for the South Dock in Antwerp, his design for a library for the University of Paris and his proposals for the 'Tokyo Frontier' exhibition, scheduled for 1996 and seeking to explore the possibilities of cities of the 21st century.
