This issue is introduced by a survey of some of the key designs for the regeneration of the Naples Railway Network with contributions by Hadid, Eisenman, Rogers and Siza. Alongside railway projects such as GMP’s Tianjin Train Station and César Portela’s new station for the El Prat Airport are reviewed. Another section examines new projects in the pipeline such as Piano’s design for Ronchamp; MVRDV’s Power Center, Gwang Gyo; Sadar & Vuga’s Air Traffic Control Center, Ljubljana; and BIG’s Scala Tower, Copenhagen. Several competitions and exhibitions are reviewed while the design and construction of SANAA’s Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne is examined in considerable detail.
