Inseparable from the Portuguese landscape, the architecture of Souto de Moura is caught between the contradictory concepts of authenticity and simulation in a struggle to achieve a form of naturalness. This ten year survey of his work examines twenty-one projects ranging from private houses and apartments to his recently completed Braga Municipal Stadium. All projects are immaculately presented through large full page spreads of various views, plans, sketches, incisive descriptions and are introduced through an interview with the architect.
