Although there are examples of housing dating back to the Middle Ages and Roman times, the Industrial Revolution undoubtedly provided the greatest development in this field. Since then the apartment building has assumed numerous styles and shapes, incorporated technological advances and become the most popular type of housing in cities around the world.
Architects have introduced a not often found aesthetic quality to high-rise complexes, especially to officially protected housing. This volume collects some of the most recognized designs, of local and international firms, and presents current architectural trends in multi-housing projects.
