Flemish architect Xaveer de Geyter founded his practice in the early nineties, after a ten year collaborative period with the Office of Metropolitan Architecture from Rem Koolhaas. While having only completed a modest number of projects, De Geyter has nevertheless managed to generate an international reputation for both unpretentious architecture and large scale urban projects. Here, sixteen projects are examined with the help of plans, models, texts and photographs including: the House near Antwerp, the Chassé Park Apartments in Breda, the buildings for the Ghent University and the competition entries for both the National Archives in Luxembourg and the ‘Quartier des Halles' in Paris.
