Présentation de l'éditeur :
To understand the thought, the vision and the architecture of Rafael Aranda (1961), Carmen Pigem (1962) and Ramón Vilalta (1960) it is essential to associate them with the place where they began their work, the place in which they live.
The study of RCR's architecture, which has taken root in the city of Olot, in the Catalan province of Girona, far from being an anecdotal geographical fact, explains the reasoning behind the position held by these architects, who after studying in the School of Architecture of Vallés, decided to return to their hometown far from the annals of the Olympic Games in Barcelona, to realise in that place an architecture of their own.
The architectural production of
RCR cannot be understood when separated from this decision. Therefore, this issue of
DA presents some recent work of RCR which shows the unique dialog they establish between project and landscape.
