From the outset, the work of John Pawson has focused on exploring fundamental problems of space, proportion, light and materials in a search for an expression of simplicity which has been coined minimalist. This edition surveys 17 of his architectural projects, including the ‘Tilty Barn' in Essex, ‘Pawson House' in London, the ‘Monastery of Our Lady of Novy Dvur' in Bohemia and the recently completed ‘Baron House' in Sweden. All projects are presented alongside texts, plans and photographs and are introduced with essays and a conversation between Pawson and Deyan Sudjic.
