Présentation de l'éditeur :

The exceedingly bold design of the new Porsche Museum in Stuttgart by the Viennese architects Delugan Meissl—now in a monograph with circa 300 color illustrations.

Even during the construction phase, the grand design of the new Porsche Museum in Stuttgart is a spectacular expression of a new generation of remarkable museums and unique structures commissioned by the automobile industry.
The museum’s protruding main structure, which has been disengaged from the ground and is carried solely by three large supports, seems to hover over the folded topography of the ground floor.
In doing so, the building designed by the Viennese office Delugan Meissl Associated Architects does not make reference to characteristic vehicle shapes; rather, it self-assuredly shows an autonomous habitus that is as elegant as it is dynamic, which is traceable more to the interpretation of a specific attitude than to a Porsche-specific design.

The book impressively portrays the design methodology and genesis of this extremely complicated building. It documents the engineering challenge as well as the spatial qualities of the completed museum.
