Présentation de l'éditeur :
Most of Javier García-Solera recent buildings are located in the area
of Alicante. They are usually pieces small in size, well adapted to the
urban or suburban environment into which they are placed, dedicated to
work, entertainment, study or to the services, They are configured in
elementary volumes in which opaque adornments and concise and silent
expression prevail.
These works are often interpreted as an exercise of
pure abstraction directed to reaching the greatest possible level of
compositional refinement and technical virtuosity, Although these are
qualities that form part of the cultural baggage of the author, they do
not contain the key that helps us understand the profound sense of this
architecture.
The key would have to be sought in the impression of serenity and the
feeling of serene luminosity given off by this group of works, in its
capacity to build scenarios of everyday life so that cordiality and
care immediately take over. What these works try to offer us,
discreetly, is a sensation of comfort that caters to the body and the
spirit equally.
They manage to transform architecture into active and
invisible principle, that places itself at the service of the unfolding
activities and developments of life. Visual refinement or virtuosity in
the employment of techniques and materials are not, then, anything
other than means or instruments of attaining the true aim that theses
works pursue: to make our world inhabitable and, especially, the
environment of everyday life.
