The work of Mario Corea explores the role of architecture as the generator of urban concepts, tactics and strategies. Based in Barcelona, much of the production of his studio has consisted of community facilities on a variety of scales including hospitals and health care centers as well as buildings for education and sports. This book is composed of a selection of 28 works and projects from 1985 to the present for sites that range from Barcelona to the Balearic Islands to the Patagonia. The projects are presented according to five themes that relate their specific location to their function in the construction of the city: Intersections, Sutures, Articulations - Borders, Topographies and Megaforms. The book features an introduction by Francisco Jorge Liernur and an interview by Fredy Massad and Alicia Guerrero Yeste.
